  • Christmas Hamper Appeal

For many years Peeblesshire Youth Trust (PYT) has provided Christmas hampers to local families who may find the season difficult. Last year they delivered around 120 hampers to families nominated by schools, health visitors and social services. This project has always been a true community effort – coordinated by volunteers, supported by PYT staff, and powered by the generosity of local churches, schools, and organisations. This year’s Christmas Hamper Programme will be delivered jointly by Peeblesshire Youth Trust and Peeblesshire Foodbank, with PYT coordinating donations from local organisations and the Foodbank providing the infrastructure and logistical support to manage collection, packing and distribution. There will also be a small shift in focus this year. While families can continue to access essential food items through the Foodbank as usual, the Christmas hampers will centre more on seasonal items and festive treats that help make Christmas feel a little more special. With this in mind, Eddleston, Peebles Old and Stobo & Drumelzier Parish Churches have been asked of they could collect the following items, which would be greatly appreciated.

   – Good quality coffee and tea

   – After Eight mints and chocolate mints

Donations can be dropped of at each church and will be collected late November. Thank you.
